B.H.P. is the horse power measured at the crank shaft of the engine R.W.H.P. is horse power measured at the wheels the final output of the power...Lets say your car makes 200 B.H.P. and on the dyno it shows up as 190H.P. you ask why is this its because of frictional losses gear box axle things like that. B.H.P. is used to measure engine H.P. What really counts and has more meaning is the R.W.H.P.=H.P. what your actually putting to the ground by your tire....

Bhp stands for break horse power, its to do with how many horses it would take to pull the car to a stop if pulling in the other direction the car is travelling in at top speed .

It is to do with how much a Horse could carry over the same distance. I think, though I'm probably wrong it's based on a horse carrying 230lbs over a mile or something like that.

that is the HP rating, or Horsepower. It tells the engine output.
