Almost no one finds himself in life. We put on our masks, and change it every day. One day we wake up being content for no reason, and next day we wake up sad. The only thing that is constant is the change itself. You are just like other people, and there's nothing wrong with you. The fact that you wonder about yourself and life, makes you more special than others. But on the surface you are one of us.
"Live and let die." To live is to wonder about everything, and be amazed at everything, including our own selves; and leaving this world still wondering about its wonders.
Everyone is a fool, but some hide it better than others! Fooling could be rewarding too... learning and playing music, painting, reading, writing, sports, walking in the rain and smelling it... anything, but something, not nothing. Nothingness is death.

Before you came to 40 you were at 20 and then 30. At those times what were you? Obviously still searching. . But, then you had thought: "I am just 20 ( or 30) . I still have a lot left and I will find myself" . Why didn`t you think like that again when at 40? Why? Are you giving up hope at 40? . friend, you have a long, long way to go.Till 100.
Donot give up till 100. You cannot.
As an Eastern world man I would give some thought to KARMA theory. This is not a fatalists` theory as many make out to be. My teacher summed it up saying that life is like playing Scrable. You are dealt 7 letters . You took out those letters by some chance.
You have to make best use of those whatever has been dealt to you. It is in the palying that the thrill is.
You come to accept the fact that in your life you have been dealt this way. Play it . Play it hard and well. donot succumb to peer pressure. Let all the others have everything.
You will see the trandformation in yourself.

Try not to determine "who" you are by what your job is. You are never too old to go back to school. They say 40 is the new 20 so start thinking about what you like to do, and persue it. If you like to travel, consider becoming a flight attendent or even someone that works on a cruise line. If you like photography, then take some classes in that. Even if you aren't happy in your job, you can be happy with a hobby or something you enjoy doing, because that's WHO you are, not your job...at least not yet!! Good luck!

I have always found that a true calling is stumbled upon through desire...... Whatever drives and makes one feel passionate about what to do is that calling......
I once stumbled upon a dream, and that dream has lead me to interpret them.... and I have done them for about 22 years now....
It is a passion that does hurt no one...... But, helps instruct leading to understanding.....
Some call that passion a "gift"..... whatever you find that drives that "gift" in you, is that which you seek.......
To some, it is music, to some, it is writing. To others it is dancing, to others still, it is just surfing the net...... But, whatever the passion, whatever the drive..... Is that "gift" and that calling of which you claim, you have not yet found.......
Your sister,
Ginger

explore religion, charities, trying to find yourself through your secular career is not always the answer. Our society puts too much emphasis on the career and making money. Sometimes it takes more than switching jobs to find our true calling.

I wouldn't worry too hard about it if I were you. There are people who never really find themselves until their death beds. Life is a constant learning process that we go through. There are so many things about life, love, and knowledge we have to go through. Best to take it slowly and at a relaxed pace that's best for you.

one thing keep in mind- what we have in hand is far better than what we don't have.
never lose the one in hand. suffering starts from there.all are not lucky enough.

The solution is introspection. You must first come to really know yourself, and that you can only achieve by analyzing yourself (psychologically). Once you meet the true you, you will find out what you really want, what suits your being. It does however take time...

Stop looking so hard. When you decide to quit your search you shall appear. Through your question you sound like your labeling yourself through your work. I can relate to that as I catch myself doing that from time to time. You are. and that's all you are.
