I undestand the concept of having friends, networking, messaging, pics, so on and so forth. When you add a musician, though... a "famous person", if you will - do they actually go through and add everone personally, or is it an automatic thing? A somewhat well-known musician requested me as a friend recently, and I'm just curious if he actually saw my name and decided to add me, or if it was an automatic response to something I did on MySpace. All you MySpace junkies... speak! :)

i know exactly what you mean..just recently, Jay-Z requested me to be his friend! i really don't think that the real jay-z would have the time to sit on his computer and browse through millions of people to add as his "friends". i think it's an automatic thing. it's either done automatically, or it's fake..so, it probably isn't jay-z. lol. but what i can't understand is, why would someone pose as a famous person on myspace? what would be the point of that you know? it's all a mystery....

All musicians go through it personally, but the featured profiles, (Official Movies, Video Games, TV Shows, etc.)
will add you automatically. I don't know why for sure.

I don't think it's an automatic thing. The same thing happened to me to. There is a thing that you can put on your myspace that allows you to see who views your profile.

the factor of being 'acquaintances' with celebrities is giving them advertizing area on your myspace.. on your friends section. ninety% of them won't return your messages etc.. a rather good variety of them are not even run by utilising the stars. they're only maintained as the thank you to offer a small occasion of the performer to those that have not heard of them earlier & hopefully benefit the performer new followers and greater human beings to purchase their CDs/Merch/DVDs/tickets.

the musician profiles are maintained by fans for the most part, except for a select few. so if your question is whether someone famous saw your name and recognized it - then most likely, no.

musicians want to spread their music. I dont think its on a personal basis. I think they just keep adding and adding. I get them all the time and I rarely add them.
