FM and AM radios are not digital. Satallite TV signals come from well, satellites, which are much higher than a radio tower. Thus the signal has to come all the way through the clouds while radio signals come from ground based towers and thus the signal go though much less interference.

The rain has defiantly been playing games with me during heavy rain. Was never this bad, I do not know why it is getting worse. Radio maybe you get some static with a lightning bolt. Have no clue why they are affected differently.

radio waves travel sideways through the weather, while Sat. TV has to come down vertically, the same direction as the rain.

The waves come down not from the side so the signal on sattilite gets blocked. radieo goes side to side so there is not to much stopping them.
