Just asking, because it seems, judging by the way Bush, his administration and all those in Congress and the Senate who have supported him have been behaving that committing TREASON is no longer illegal.

Thanks Chris, but I'm a guy, you're a guy...we're not family, etc...it is sort of making me feel kind of homo just by not giving you a negative one rating. I'm going to let it slide because of your broken leg though. I've had broken legs (both at the same time, with other major injuries as well...car wreck) before and it does hurt and it did make me say some weird $hit too. LMAO

Get well soon brother.

In violation of his oath of office, Bush used signing statements to negate laws passed by Congress, not with a veto, but with his personal opinion. Bush, thus, elevated himself above the rule of law that has protected America from becoming a tyranny and made a mockery of the separation of powers that are a foundation of American liberty.

The notion that Americans can be protected from "terror" by giving up the Bill of Rights(and we have) is absurd. Democrats are complicit in this absurd notion. Too many have been intimidated into voting for police state legislation, because they lacked the GUTS to call police state legislation by its own name. The fact is, some legislation passed during the Bush administration is far more dangerous to Americans than Muslim terrorists.

With the overnight destruction of civil liberties that were 800 years in their creation, the United States stands at a watershed. If the legislation that has been put on the books permitting spying on Americans without a court warrant, legalizing torture and self-incrimination, and repealing habeas corpus and the right to an attorney remains on the books, the United States will be controlled by regime regardless of which party is in power.

There are a great form of terrible crimes, yet indexed under are in simple terms 2 of many: Tying somebody to a mattress, dowsing the physique with sulphuric and nitric acids, and mutilating the physique with a knife. The sufferer survived for 33 days in the previous death. Or Murdering a baby and raping and eating the corpse afterwards. Then bathing in the blood. (actual tale).

In addition to being in the Constitution itself, the relevant federal statute is 18 USC 2381.

But Bush has not committed treason, as defined by statute.

He has committed other felonies (18 USC 2441, 18 USC 2501, etc.) But not treason.

Yes, treason is illegal.

It was a new law made during George H. Bush's term.

However, GWB is getting away with it - so far.
