Yes, I do. While I never download MP3s illegally, I always do when it's provided by the artist themselves or when my friend can burn me a CD. And if I like it, I buy the real CD.
Why? Because I acknowledge that the artists need my money. I don't want to steal from them. Also, I'm showing my appreciation for the album: the artist made an excellent work of fine art, so I'm showing the artist how much I care about it.
In addition, I, as my cousin would say, "have a ***** for the packaging." I love having the actual jewel case, and being able to keep a nice-looking collection. I love having the booklet, reading the linear notes, looking at the artwork, etc. I think there's no better feeling in the world than exploring the booklet and box of a new CD while listening to it for the first time.

I do, just because I'm a music collector. I have a 40GB mp3 player and I download mp3s, but I still buy cds of my favorite artists. Nothing can replace the feeling of trying to get that plastic wrap off your new cd, and then checking out the albumn art and actually popping the disc in to listen. It's probably just the same for people who still listen to records. I'll take music in any form I can get it.

Yup. I buy albums that I like so that I can always have them, and support the band.*
I rip CD's to a lossless codec for storage, burn a copy of the CD for use in the car, and then when I have the time I rip to a lossy format for use on my mp3 player.
*Many of the bands I listen to have long since dissolved, but it's irrelevant: someone somewhere knows to keep pumping out the CD's because we're still buying them.

I buy cd's from time to time if I really love the artist's songs. Even though I have an MP3 player & I have access to virtually thousands of tracks for free, I know the difference between criminal & lawful. Imagine someone having access to your business as they feel fit without having to pay for your product?

Yes, because most MP3's you download are lower quality. For the most part I only download a "one hit wonder" or something... if the band is good then I want the disc.

because of the quality. an audiophile like me won't be satissfy with low rate sound of mp3. even the highest quality compression won't be same with the CD. and I prefer vynil record than CD. it still has the best sound than any digital records.

Of course. I like to own the album. I never download a full album unless my sibling or roommate gives it to me to rip. Not to mention, if I like an artist quite a lot, I feel happy supporting his music by paying for what I enjoy. How do you think albums go gold and platinum?

It's about quality. I have an audiophile system MP3's sound thin on audiophile equipment. It's as simple as that.
