The Lebanese civil war was mostly fought to give civil rights to the Muslims from the Christians. I helped raise money for the Muslim cause. (yeah! Me, a Jew). The Christians ran the government, the good jobs, and life in general. In the end, the Parliament was to be divided 50/50 between Muslims and Christians. But, it did not work out well, because-----------------

Syria came in to back Hezbollah and tried to take over the government. Syria still has a great influence there. Because of Hezbollah, the 50% of the Muslims in the government is divided, and again, the Christians have a majority rule.

The Civil war only gave Lebanon another tyrant----Syria and Hezbollah.

The Lebanon civil war does not exist at the moment.

In 2005 the Israelis left Gaza totally. Five years earlier, they left Lebanon totally.

But it is convenient for the Arabs to ignore this, so they can continue to play the role of underdog.

The Arabs have bombarded southern Israel with over 1000 missiles just this year. And their intention to kill innocent Israeli citizens has been realized this week, when a Qassam missile killed an Israeli woman and seriously injured an Israeli man.

If the Israelis were smart they would defeat these enemies totally and then enter into a peace agreement, ensuring that these Arabs could never attack them again.

The Lebanon civil war is not over yet. It is a continuous process, but weapons were shut since 1990 internally.
With its current confessional system and current Constitution, Lebanon will never live without a civil war status...
