Personally, I think this is MORE than just government to civilian Intimidation and Propaganda. I believe it is an attempt to get people to start believing that a trial where ONE MAN or WOMAN judge decides your guilt or innocence is BETTER than having a jury of 12 people to pool from for a concensus.

You tell me. Is this JUST Intimidation and Propaganda or is this MUCH MUCH worse?

This is obviously VERY intimidating to the masses. PRISON...ohhh, scary...

Why not respond? Are you afraid? Come on people, answer the question.

Coragryph,

I gave you a thumbs up on that one because I would LOVE for you to be correct. However, I disagree. I think this, like so many other shows and moveis that glorify or make fun of human suffering, are, in fact, Propaganda to slowly melt the minds of the foolish.

On the other hand, the people DUMB enough to accept a trial by a single judge, well, they probably get what they deserve.

All I know is that if I were facing death in court, I would want to pool from a dozen people rather than one person.

Maybe I should have said "WHEN?" The way this world is going, WHEN is more appropriate.

Sometimes a bench trial (just a judge) is better than a jury trial.
That's why defendants have the right to request a bench trial.

But there's also the constitutional guarantee of a jury trial, so as far as propoganda goes, it's pretty pointless, since I doubt we'll ever see a constitutional amendment eliminating jury trials.

It's just a movie.

It conpletely relies upon on the circumstances surrounding the sentence and the convicted human being. If there's a life like danger that the guy can rejoin the inhabitants without reoffending in besides then he/she must have that danger finally. reformatory serves 2 significant applications. Punishment for the crime is the numerous purpose. purely making it not conceivable for that human being to do extra damage to the commonly used public is the secondary purpose. people like Manson, who've blatantly reported that they could reoffend, must be saved in reformatory to guard the commonly used public.
