My Labtech optical mouse, cute and small, worked just by plugging it in. (Cost about $24.) Worked great for about a year. Then quit, for good. I tried it in another computer, but unsuccessful. Is there a repair? the Labtech company is not helpful, nor the store of purchase (office depot). Do "mice" have a short life span? I am not a heavy computer user.

Mice generally last a number of years, depending on the environment they're in. If it's a cordless mouse, replace the battery in the actual mouse.

Best thing is, buy a new mouse, and not an opticle, regular ones last longer. Hope this helps.
