earth is obviously created "naturally", in my opinion, there is no such thing as god, rather, earth was created coincidentally.

when the solar system is formed, little bits of the sun is trapped by its own gravity, because they were fluid, they formed spheres, this explains why planets are round and not triangular. earth was one of them, it was once small and in habitable, it is only by chance an asteroid nearly the size of earth than collided and fused with earth, readjusting its orbit, size and atmosphere, this also provided the optimal conditions for simple organisms to form out of chemical reactions between chemicals found in the sea together with other natural phenomena like lightnings.

god had no hand in this, rather, god was created by man

Sorry to disappoint you, but it was the work of god. Im a christian and a scientist and i simply cannot believe that when we look at the majesty of the universe and everything we see around us simply could not have occured by chance alone. I am a christian but am still willing to accept a theory like the big bang. There is a lot of evidence to support this theory, it doesnt take away the fact that god created it. The bible tells us that certain things happen, what science does is explain how these happen. Theres no reason why these 2 cannot co exist. There a versus in the bible which agrees with a lot if the science of today. The bible talks about the earth being round. "God sits upon the circle of the earth" Isaiah 40:22 this was around 760-698BC. In the 20's Edwin Hubble proved that the universe is expanding. In the bible it says, "God stretches out the heavens as a curtain and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in" Isaiah 40:22 (760-698BC)

With your question the earth was not part of the sun. the 2 were created seperately and at roughly the same period of time. One theory for the formation of the earth is known as accreation. In the early solar system there were a lot of rocky worlds some large some small. Eventually these bodies grouped together and increased in mass. The larger they became the stronger their gravitational field was and so the more pieces were attracted to them. During this time the earth would have been a desolate place. In genesis it talks about the earth being without form and void. This could be a description of this accretion process. The point is that just because you are a christian doesnt mean that you cant accept these kinds of theories as long you accept that our lord was behind this process.

God and mom God are the Alpha and Omega- or the beginning up and the top. the two even although won't be able to be defined as a male woman couple have been in stress for billions of years. After our Earth has come to destruction via like a viral flu, the Earth will pass on- without humanity. Hweaven is for Eternity and is our 'actual'. we are purely right here to adventure all and nuance we 'chosen' in the previous we've been concieved. to boot, all of the various ethnic races are those souls who got here from different planets corresponding to ours. There are additionally planets with plenty bigger or enlightened souls and planets the place souls are on a decrease airplane than our Earth. purely the soul knows why we are right here. so, mothers and dads God created each environment and the character for it particularly is purpose.

I think you need to look at billions of years,Thomass and does this theory incorporate the almagamation of other planets or just earth / sun?

Addition - - - - if planets are round due to gravity, it stands to reason that the chunk that separated from the sun would not have been round, therefore for gravity to refashion earth and sun back into the common 'spherical' shape, it would have taken a heck of a long time.

For the record, I'm not for or against the God vs Nature arguement with this one - interesting theory and I like interesting theories......

You make the assumption that nature is separate from God, or that nature was not the process that God used in the creation. The perception that we have of God or the properties of God changes with the amount of understanding we have of the world around us. It does not mean that God changes, but our understanding changes. The fact that many people personify God does not exclude or proof his/her/its existence.

The ability of man to fully understand the true nature of the universe has been a topic for philosophers since man has had the ability to share ideas. Reality, as it really exist, compared to the concept of reality my have little in common. The brain is as such that it only understands our concept of reality. The brain deals in concepts, God is a concept that may or may not exist in reality, but God does exist in the perceived reality in the minds of the majority of the human population in one form or another. The friction comes when attempting to give form to the abstract concepts of God. Not everyone has the same image, and not everyone is tolerant of concepts different than their own. This fact can be seen on a regular basis in Yahoo answers by people that do not as questions designed for open discussion, but for the sole purpose of antagonizing one religious sect or another.

"You are a fluke of the universe, far less than the trees and the stars, you have no right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe would get along just fine without you." (Deteriorata)

How can the process you describe give rise to right and wrong? If you say that there is no real distinction between right and wrong because everything comes from an impersonal material cause, then nobody has to listen to you, anybody could kill you and nobody could say with any certainty that it was morally wrong

Do you see that you are arguing for your own insignificance...?

Why should anybody listen to you?

You have won the argument for us!

To begin with, your science is wrong. Earth did NOT separate from the sun and then cool. Earth, the sun, and all the other major bodies of our solar system formed independantly within a primordial nebula.

Hi Thomass,
First of all, Earth, Sun, and Heavens were made by GOD!
Chance, Nature, Accident...NONE could have created such balance and beauty but GOD. And the sheer amount of power needed to accomplish such a feat are only owned by GOD.

yeah i love to argue :) so you explain to me, how a peice of sun, separates, flyies away, cools down, and out of this, water appears from no where, an atomshpere. live, plants, animals. all this evolved from a hot peice of molten rock??? i think not...thats common sense, that would be like saying there is water on the sun,lol
