It depends entirely on the class, the instructor, and the school policies.

Some schools have policies that require certain percentages for certain grades. At mine, for instance, 93% and above is an A, 85% and above is a B, 77% and above is a C, and 70% and above is a D. So at our school 71% would be a D-, which is not good.

Other schools use different grading scales. At many 71% would be a C, which is OK, but not outstanding. At still other schools, the instructors set their own policies. Sometimes they make their tests very challenging and then curve them, so 71% could be very good on a difficult test.

What you need to do is talk with your instructor about how you did and find out where you stand.

Depends on what the Standard deviation, mean, median and mode is. Also depends on how they arrive at the value of 71%, is it based on raw marks or a ranking system? Well a 71%, definitely isn't a bad mark, thats about a Credit, good

It's not bad ... but not great either. If I were you, I'd aim for at least an 80. If you plan on being accepted in to any universities ... your gonna have to "hit the books". Many universities won't accept a student with anything less than an 85 or 90 ... in all subjects.

If you worked very hard and you got 71% means its bad
If you haven't worked much and you got 71% means its good
Anyhow you got 71% means you got better chances of getting 80% and more- best of luck for your future

In most schools, 71% would be considered slightly below average, or a C-. I wouldn't worry to much about it if it was just a test. If that was your actually grade, you'll just have to work harder next term to bring it up!

Pretty bad. A 75 would look like you were at least trying. I expect my daughters to always get above 85...

HOWEVER
if you got below this last time it is an improvement and someone will see good in that.

You know its not a good mark, thats why you're asking :P

It is a barely passing. You squeaked through. Do not look for congratulations or an A at the end of the term.

It's an average score that wouldn't impress my parents. Unless if it was really hard and a lot of people did bad, but you still got a C, I'd be happy.

Yes and no.
It's good because you passed but it's bad because you only passed by 6 points... You should try to shoot for something in the 80's.
