what makes a shirt henley?

Question

My father recently mentioned to me that he wanted henley shirts but could not find them. I searched Ebay and I find many shirts by abercrombie and hollister and the titles say henley?

Is this what he means? He doesnt like shirts that advertise their name on them so I don't know which one he would want. It would be a xmas gift.

Henley Shirts are basically a tee shirt fitting sytle shirt with two to three buttons at the neck area. I have seen most henleys in the winter time made out of thermal material but they come in other types of material. Henley shirts are a easy item to wear at anytime. More like a multipurpose shirt.

If your dad does really like logos on his clothing, your best bet for a henley is a department store... Macy's, old navy, gap, Kohl's, and etc.
Any also Target has some there too. I got some their for my 2 year old son. It was a great buy too.

A henley is a shirt, long or short sleeved, that has a collar more like a t shirt, but that buttons halfway up, like a polo. They come in a number of colors, materials, and styles... but the collar/buttons are classic characteristics. Hope this helps.

L.L. Bean sells the best Henley shirts. They are like casual shirts with 2 or three buttons in the front. They are long sleeve and the ones from L.L. Bean are so perfect I buy them for hubby every Christmas. This link will at least show you what they mean even if you don't buy at L.L. Bean!

It describes the style, not really a brand. The row of buttons mostly, and the taped style of the collar.
