I have table salt without iodine, but do I use baking soda also?? I am not willing to buy a PH testing or anything, just need a close measurement of ingredients to water.

i looked up saline solution on wikipedia and got this ammount:

"Half-normal saline (0.45% NaCl), often with "D5" (5% dextrose), contains 77 mEq/L of Na and Cl and 4.5 g/L glucose."

then did the stochiometry for you using the "77 mEq/L of Na and Cl" part.

it comes out to 4.5 grams of pure salt for 1 liter of water.

77 mEq/L = 0.077 Eq/L
x58.4425 molecular weight
= 4.5 grams / liter.

they also tell you it has 4.5 g/L of sugar.

i dont understand the huge differences in percentages from the begining of the statement, but if you trust the second part they definately both come out to 4.5 grams per liter of solution. this means that if you want it very accurate you need to put the solids in first and bring the water level up to 1 liter. if you start with 1 liter of water and add the solids you will get more than a liter of solution. in this case its probably not so important because the ammounts you add are so small... but you only need 8oz!

if you convert:
0.133 grams per ounce
1.06 grams of each per 8oz

make alot at once for a more accurate solution but extreme accuracy probably isnt a big deal for a cleansing.

"Normal saline" is 0.9% salt in water, by weight. >.009 x 8 = .072 oz salt OR just put a Tbsp salt into a cup of water, boil it a minute,,, store in a steril container... OR just go to Wal-mart and get a bottle of it right off the shelf..

I suggest you use a steam from the salt water It is safer and more effective. If you need to sterilize the air in your house you can burn a pinch of sulfur on the stove. Airborne virus are part of disease transfer.

It's something like 8c water, 1.5 tsp salt (iodised or not) and 7/10tsp baking soda.
