Hey guys, just to start off, the Counting Crows have been my favorite band since their first album, "August and Everything After" came out 13 years ago. I have seen them in concert 6 times. I am a huge music fan, listening to oldies, classic rock, 80's new wave, and of course 90's alternative (although I have to admit, my musical "antenna" has not been out for the past few years).

I just have to say that there has never been another band out there that hits me as hard as CC does. They're music and lyrics bring out so much emotion that its almost unbearable at times. In my eyes they could do no wrong.

Does anyone else feel like this? What is your honest take on this amazing band??

Yeah, Druritz can definately whine with the best of them. But he's an excellent songwriter and seems like he brings it straight from the heart. A younger Bob Dylan on valium! LOL. "A-roouuuuunnnnd Heeeeeere...we stay up, very very laaaaaate."

First off I love the Counting Crows and I own every release they have put out but I have to admit to you that I think that more than anything they are students of 60's and 70's music... they borrow the very best from a lot of classic bands and add just enough of their own stuff to make it real. I think some of the emotion that you speak of is calculated... They are Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, The Grateful Dead, The Band, all rolled into one, with just a splash of Lou Reed... it works believe me but sometimes it is a bit pretentious too.

I like the Counting Crows alot, but if I had to pick my favorite artist for emotionally moving music, I'd have to say Sarah McLachlan.

A couple years ago, I would've completely agreed. But then I heard Bright Eyes and that guy is easily the most emotional musician ever.
