In order to understand the movie, you really need to read the book - all of it.
But in general, here goes - ALL the monsters are ONE monster - a creature from another dimension, who kills children every 23 years or so, and feeds off of their fear. It stores them away like a spider in a cocoon, so that it can make each meal last as long as possible. It reads the children's minds, so that it can take the shape of what they fear most, spicing it's food for later digestion. It doesn't generally feed on adults since our fears are more complex, while a child's fears are VERY strong.

the monster kills a lot of them ... but in the end its just a loooooonnnng movie that bores you before you get to the end.

Hello-That is one thing about S. King, you have to understand him for that movie. The book is better. Read the book first, then watch the movie.They leave so much out for the movie. READ IT-It is a good one.

The Clown he kills the kids that was at that little house thingy out in the woods in the very beging!He kills them when they get older though!Hope I helped!
