Slippery Slope arguments carry arguments to illogical disasterous conclusions, "If we accept this it will be the end of the world as we know it"

A fallacy is an untrue statement. Just about anything that the main stream press has said about George Bush and the Republicans for example. (Sorry I couldn't resist!) If a statement like "Republicans kill Ted Kennedy!", for example was published, and Mr. Kennedy was seen the next day on the floor of Congress, that statement would be a fallacy. A non truth, or simply a lie. (Although a lie is generally taken to mean a non truth told by someone that knows the truth and tells the fallacy anyway.)
