The show appeared to have totally sold out to corporate America. The product with a Staple's sticker on the shredder was shamelessly plugged repeatedly throughout the show. I hope other shows don't become paid advertizements for Corporations.

Staples also aired at least two commercials featureing the shredder during the airing to remove all doubt they were paying for product placement on the show.

yeah, I think it was supposed to be funny.. that they have the shredder and there is a commercial for it. But then, there is so much about that show that is "supposed" to be funny....

I noticed the staple's shredder and then a commerical of the same shredder came on too. So then I went out and bought one after the show was over. lol :-) jk

The only thing I can think of is that in the second season, there were several references that Staples was competing with Dunder Mifflin and driving them out of business. The show creators might have decided to do the advertisement thing for Staples to both sell-out and make reference to that joke.

I still think the show is funny....I don't mind the shameless plugs.
I'm probably going to get hubby the shredder for Christmas - he thought it was pretty cool - wants to try shredding a credit card.
