How can the U.S. regain it's once-held integrity? How can the U.S. be as liked as it used to be?

I m not really sure... I am well travelled and lately, the rest of the world doesn't respect the US the way they were used to because they think it abuses its military power and threatens with it all the time.

Overseas now, the Euro currency is taking over the international financial markets so they don't look at the US $ as a major trading currency anymore (at least to the same level it used to be). If the US keeps its nose up in the air, it will get hurt in these global markets.

To answer your question, the US needs to rebuild its friendly image it used to have in the 80's and 90's. Less arrogance and more tolerance.

I am no social scientist nor politician but that's the general feed back I got from people I interacted with overseas.

Let Russia start threatening the world again.

We have never really been liked in the world and most countries after WWII thought we were on our way to start conquering the world and feared a US empire. The only reason the world buddied up to us is we never had a policy of sending people to the tundra to let them die and we never had gulags. We were always looked at as the lesser of two evils and since one evil is gone we have lost our appeal.

The old saying about the US was "Overpaid, Oversexed and Over here". So we need to worry less about what the world thinks about us and worry more on how to make our country better. The best we can ever hope for is respect from other countries.

1. Quit supporting forgeiners
2. Put a cap off on how much oil companys can charge in USA
3. Make rich pay taxes.
4. Quit worrying about other countries and worry about our own.
5. Reenstate the death penalty, and use it more often, instead of paying to keep people in prison, ask for volunteers to be the firing squad, I'm sure a lot of Americans will sign up.

First, they have to admit that all people, not just Americans have the same rights that our constitution give us. You have to earn respect, you can't force people's respect. They may act like they respect you to keep you from bombing them back to the stone age, but as soon as you turn your back, they're flipping you off or worse. I've spent a lot of time abroad and seen how some Americans act towards people of other nations. It shames me to see how arrogant they can be. If you have a guest in your house, you don't want him putting down your 32" TV when he has a home theater in his house. That's how many Americans act in other countries. We do have many things other people don't have, but rubbing their noses in it, doesn't go very far towards making friends.

you should read history a little better, very few if any really likes us now or in the past, we have given trillions over the years in money and aid to country's, they take and give us the finger in return. its always been that way.

Just keep its mouth shut and spend its money to educate all these stupidity in USA. IF you people have intent to live with other civilized nations in peace and they respect you like a human being. Otherwise all wise people avoiding Gangs and Bullies!

In last 200 USA History Gangs and Bulliesim did not bring any kind of respect, security and Freedoms for Americans and every day life gets worse in USA. Today your all Freedoms is to walk in certain side walks; however, SOON, in Each Side Walks there would be several armed cups asking you to take your pants down to make sure that you did not hide a bomb there!?

I really don't care what the rest of the world thinks about us, because they're in a bigger mess then we are.
