That's would be Depo-Provera. It's a shot to stop your monthly friend for 3 months. There is some spotting involved. However, after I was on it for 9 months it helped to stop the horrible cramps I was getting. Now that I am no longer on it, I have relief from all the cramps I would get.

If you mean Depo Provera, in some people it can stop periods all together (while you are on it) Some people bleed more on the Depo shot. There's a link between depo and brittle bones/osteoporosis so a lot of docs won't give it now. There's a needle (Seasonale I think it's called) that you only have you period every 3 months. Apparently it's safe to avoid periods this way, I think it'd be great lol

Being a girl is a pain in the butt when it comes to that time of the month.
Of course, I would know. :P
But I'm with you on this one. How healthy can it be to stop or even postpone a period for three months?
Kind of creepy.
I understand how craptacular a period is, but come on! It's a natural part of life us girls have to deal with. I'd rather suffer through a week of hell than perhaps a lifetime of regret if side effects were to occur sometime down the road from the shot. :D â¥

I would never in a million years take birth control!! My cycles are perfectly fine and I would never take something that would alter that. I'm not a Catholic either, I just don't believe women should take birth control to get rid of a period. There are other good reasons to go on birth control but getting rid of a period is just unnatural. So, I agree with you about disagreeing.

Your body works in a strange way. Your period is a way your body cleans it self and as for the needle that depends on you. Everyone body is different.
