I am writing an essay that is a Persuasive or Argumenative one. My stand is that if we tighten up the laws on 1st time child sex-offenders, that there will more than likely be no chance or opportunity for them to commit a 2nd crime/offense; due to the strict punishment of the 1st offense.
Even if I was not a victim of child molestation myself, {at age 6 by the deacon in my church at his home}, I still would nor could tolerate nor condone this behavior and I feel that anyone that is "sick enough" to be attracted to a child needs to be locked up to begin with. Disagree? Let me know! Thank you for your help!!!!!

DEFINITELY should tighten up the laws concerning child molesters -- these are monsters in every sense of the word -- and just letting them out with little restrictions on their behaviors is a recipe for DISASTER -- and the Disaster is the continuance of the Molesting Behaviors in the future.

Not only should California Tighten up these laws, but I have another Suggestion for California:

HOW ABOUT if CALIFORNIA tightens up it's Child Support Enforcement Laws too! My Ex-Spouse ABUSED my children, and was not just able to continue contact with the children (which disgusts me to begin with -- stupid California "justice") -- but he then was also able to continue to slide off the face of Child Support Enforcement, and now ... 19 years later, I AM STILL looking for Child Support Enforcement!

Yes I agree anyone that does this should be put behind bars. I also think we should do mental evaluations on these people and learn more about why they do these things. Maybe the research will help us be more aware of warning signs to look for, and tighten up our laws and know what we need to do to prevent a second time, if and when they are released.

We just did, by requiring them to wear gps monitors for those who have been released, and extending sentences for any new cases before the courts. It is definately a perversion, and I believe it is also a mental illness. I know of NO therapy, pills, etc, that can alter their behavior, so yes, if they act out on that, then they should be locked away for good, first offense, so there is not a second offense.

I agree something must be executed, yet its a slippery slope, I propose the place do you draw the line between baby molester and man or woman thats 18 having intercourse with man or woman that's sixteen? might desire to this man or woman that needless to say isn't a predator, yet only does not make very stable judgements, be performed? yet then you definately've people who're predators from very youthful a protracted time and have no prospect of ever being rehabilitated, like the guy that molested me, i became into 7 he became into sixteen. I in no way advised all of us, and years later he became into convicted of raping the two his daughters. This man or woman might desire to be dealt with hastily. i'm unsure death is the respond nonetheless. to tell you the actuality i does not recognize the place to start as to reforming the present difficulty, yet I do experience that execution isn't the tip all be all of solutions.

They already did last week. Prop 83 stiffened the laws and penalties for these types of criminals. Do a web search on it and you'll find lots of info.
