This doesn't have to do with a security clearance. Just wanted to know if it's legal for the supervisor to keep an eye on your financial life.

Yes, but only if he has a reason to. Like if your not paying your bills or something. Keep in mind he can only see what you show him. If there is something you don't wwant him to see don't show him it. If you don't want him to see anything then just get a blank record book and tell him that you throw away all your bank staements.

See your JAG.

I think, NO. But you may find that it's worth more than you care to pay to fight this one.

I take it this is your sergeant or platoon sergeant? Ask to take it to the First Sergeant. Be firm, but respectful and tactful. When you talk, remain at ease, with your hands behind you. Don't let them get to press your "buttons." Just be firm, if you want to keep it private. You may end up discussing it with the commander, but I'd rather talk it over with the commander than with a sergeant I don't completely trust. But then again, if you can't trust your sergeant, that's rather a sad statement on your unit, isn't it?

Maybe you shoud ask to see the JAG, if that's so very important to you.

Only within the context of a security clearance investigation or a criminal investigation. Otherwise, it's none of thier business, military or not.

Yes, ecspecially for review of security clearance. If you have "financial issues" it can keep you from getting certain security clearance. They will also review your records if they think you are withholding child support from someone etc.

Yes they can. It's to ensure you are living up to your committments. The Military hates lawsuits from outside sources.

yes, once you have enlisted, the military owns you, and they can see whatever they want to see until your time has been served.
