The Irish flag, fine, so long as the American one is next to it and taller.

I don't care how many flags are flying as long as the American flag is the highest. That is the way it is suppose to be, American flag the highest followed by the state flag and anything else you want to sent up as long as they do not fly at the same level.

This is the United States of America, and that is the only flag that should be flown in public places. If they want to fly the flag from the country from where they are from, let them return home and do it. Do you see this being done in foreign countries? All other country flags fly at the embassies for identities of the country they represent and that should be the only place they can be flown. I`m of Mexican descent, and we do not fly the Mexican flag or fly the Mexican flag with the U.S. flag at our home. We have an American flag.

Most foreign businesses would fly the 2 flags. What business are you concerned about that is flying only a foreign flag? If it is the Irish flag, is it an Irish pub, or sports club?
Now you just got silly. If a business were to fly the flag of another country, and the US flag as well, it would be a severe lack of respect and a violation of flag etiquette to fly one higher than the other. They are to be flown at the same height.
The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.
When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height. The flags should be of approximately equal size. International usage forbids the display of the flag of one nation above that of another nation in time of peace. The order of precedence for flags generally is National flags (US first, then others in alphabetical order in English), State (host state first, then others in the order of admission) and territories (Washington DC, Puerto Rico, etc.), Military (in order of establishment: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard), then other.
Hmm, it is interesting that I post proper and accepted flag etiquette from an AMERICAN source, and still get 2 thumbs down.

Are you talking about on American soil? If yes, than no another nation's flag shouldn't hang alone in public without America's flag present. Outside of the US, of course.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with it. Such as if I went to Mexican or Italian resteraunt I would think the flag adds to the ambience and would look at it as adding to the atmosphere. I couldn't see it being ok in one place and not another, but if the US flag is present proper protocol must be followed.

I believe everyone should be proud of their country. It's undoubtedly the best in the world. Everyone should have a U.S. flag. But I do not believe that it should become a law for every person to raise the U.S. flag everyday.

Do you go to these businesses with the non-us flags? If so then you aren't really helping your issue. why should they have to fly the american flag? They are proud of their heritage, its not like they are burning the american flag in order to make room for their national flag.
