What will be interesting is the mixing of all the new and old technologies. There will be a day when watching 35, 16 and digital together will be normal. Oliver stone already played with this idea. Animation will become more prominent in live action and it won't look silly like Bedknobs and broomsticks. Hopefully animation studios understand that adults want to see mature features, and adult animations dramas will be released. Maybe serials will come back. I hope short film is embraced again.

Film? It will die out and be replaced by digital storage. Not immediately as digital tech that actually looks as good as film is still extremely expensive, but digital technology will eventually improve to the point where it will become cheaper to use than film, while looking every bit as good or better.

Pretty good, film was dying a few decades ago as the studios and filmmakers were losing money. New fundning and production methods have given lots of filmmakers opportunity to expose their work.
