First of all I am a supporter of gay marriage and strip clubs so do not misunderstand the rest of my answer. When the city agreed to a business owned by a homosexual couple they weren't necessarily endorsing homosexuality they were endorsing what they considered a legitimate business (the mug and muffin) as opposed to a strip club which they must view as being a less legitimate business. Personally I think they should have allowed both and let the people of the community decide by choosing which business they patronized and eventually the one less patronized would close due to lack of business and no revenue.

Your town voted on not having a bar with naked women. Perhaps this is because the town does not want to entice a bunch of drunks to come in, get all horny and wreak havoc in their quiet little world at 2 a.m. I don't think they were necessarily voting down having the naked women around - the way some people dress, you can have a peep show all day just sitting and watch some of these girls go by. I think the anticipation of excess liquor in one individual is enough to vote it down. It isn't something that will bring in the best tax revenue for the city.
Two married homosexuals running a mug and muffin place has more tax revenue generating potential and I am sure that is what your town was thinking about. Perhaps the general populace would benefit more with mugs and muffins than having the alcohol induced people inciting all sorts of endangerment. The couple you describe definitely will not harm anyone with their mugs and muffins.
If you were to really compare the two for examples to our youth, one would actually prefer exposure to the mug and muffin establishment than get our kids hooked to illicit sex and alcoholism.

How is legalizing gay marriage setting a bad example for our youth?
Strip clubs set a bad example because they are demeaning to women, but gay marriage is setting a bad example by promoting tolerance? I don't get it.

From a conservative moral view . I see your point. Neither would be considered in high moral taste. Gay marriage is more acceptable because there is more awareness.Tho that is one couple. Strip club would have impact on more people. Its a more visible . Would you let your daughter work in a strip club?

I am for individual rights all around as long as it does not hurt others.
Keep the strip clubs AND allow the gay marriage. I will just be avoiding the gay strip clubs though.

Who said gay marriage is legal? It should be, but it is not. Comparing marriage of any type to a strip club is comparing apples to oranges. Why is it okay with some parents when their kids watch gory violence but they act stupid when they watch something sexual?

They shouldn't have gay marriage or strip clubs either one (even though the strip clubs aren't as bad as gay marriage, they're still bad).

What bad example with the gay marriage? Two people who are committed to each other and wish to spend their lives together?
Youth needs examples of commitment and that marriage is not some kind of mumbo-jumbo that you bail out of in four years, because your partner is no longer "hot".

How is gay marriage a bad example? If anything it is showing your children how to be tolerant of others.
