I sold a computer of mine to someone 6 months ago. She wanted games on it, so put some of my games on it, she wanted some of my programs, so I put that on it. Now after 6 months this woman thinks I should give her my Windows xp program, because I sold it to her with windows xp on it. She either deleted or corrupted her computer and wants me to fix it and thinks I should give her my windows xp disc. The computer with was like a Pent. 4 had my windows xp on it and I sold it to her for $275. How should I handle this.

Well it seems you gave her a good deal on the computer and even helped her out thus far ( which you didnt have to do). if she wanted a top notch computer with a warrenty she should have gone to a store. So basically if you wanted to be really nice you could fix it ( reformat like someone mentioned, which is easy enough), but you are certainly not obligated to fix it by any means.

may as well give her the windows CD because when you load on another computer, and activate it through Microsoft it will alert them then a screen will pop up and tell you the software has already been activated and then it will give you Microsoft's phone # for you to call and talk to a Representative. And they ask you if the software is running on another computer.

That's for sure, it is your obligation to give her the CDs that included with the computer. whether it is XP cd, Drivers CD etc.

In helping her out to fix her computer, it is really a choice, you may do it or not.

When you sell your computer, you are to give the buyer your restoration cd and any cd that comes with the computer you first bought or else her computer is considered worthless and/or stolen by microsoft license agreement in the fine print....

Be a Sport and tell her that you cannot give her your own OS CD because it's licensed to you by Microsoft and it is illegal for you to assign your license to someone else.

well your relly suppost to have 1 cdkey per computer and if thats the disk that came with the computer then its hers, if the computer didnt come with the disk then she has to buy the os herself.. so you might have to reinstall the os for her

Just reformat it. I have no idea how to do it, but just take it.. look up how to reformat w/the xp disc you do have. That will shut her up.
