I want to cancel membership at bally fitness?

I went to bally fitness to get membership. The associate offered me a three day trial with $75 deposit.If i didn't want to continue with bally fitness I can get the deposit back. He also says after the three day trial I can have a 30 trial but I won't be able to get my deposit back. This offer included I share my free trial with three other person whom I can choose. So I said Okay. It sounds good. I took the offer. When I came home and discuss this with the three people I put on the free trial. They said it was too far to travel. So the next day I came back to bally fitness and told the associate to cancel my member ship. He did not want me to cancel it. He told me to try it out for another two day and if I decided i really didn't want it i can call him and only him to cancel it. With the frustration of arguing with him, I said Okay I can stay on the free trial for the rest of the two days. So on the third day I called to and asked for him. He was on break, so I left a message for him

I waited 2 days and did not hear a single call back from him. So I called again. I spoked with him. He now says, it is too late to cancel and get my deposit back. I said I don't care, just cancel the membership. Like a enterpreneur he wanted to persuade me into staying for the rest of the free trial, but all i need to do is come in at least 12 times, so after the 30 day trial i can cancel it. I said I do not have time to come in for 12 days. He said he can swipe my card for me out of his goodness and that he wasn't suppose to do that. So if I came in 12 times out of the 30 days i can cancel it if I wanted to. So when the thirty day came up I called and said i wanted to cancel, he said he'll have to talk to the manager because in the system it was only 10 swipe not 12. So he'll give me a call back. I waited and waited no call back. A couple of days later some collector from bally fitness called me and told me I needed to pay for the membership. I told them that the other associate will

handle it, because I told him to cancel it and he did not and that I wasn't going to pay for it. They said I swiped in and out and that i used it and that I have to pay for the three person that was on the free triail too. I told them that I told the other associiate to cancel everything. I was not going to pay for something I told them to cancel and they didn't cancel. And now I'm in over $2000 of a balance I need to pay them. What can I do? I really want to get this idiot associate fired. I told him over and over again to cancel my membership. I even turn in all my paper to him and he said i didn't need to do a single thing. That he will take care of it. Now the collectors keep calling me and telling me to pay for iti. What can I do? Can I sue them? If so, what steps can I take? Please... anyone who can help me. I'm so pissed off, I'm not sure what kind of legal actions should I take?

Good luck I did the same thing in 1986 and it took 6 years to get it off of my credit history and I couldn't even use their club,because of a back injury.

Good luck with that! My daughter belonged to Ballys when she got pregnant, then developed a heart condition. She had a doctors order for no exercise and they would not let her out of her contract and they are still trying to collect 5 years later.
