Because there are 82 games in a basketball season, you could lose 20 and still get into the playoffs, in football there are 16 and every game means something, 1 loss could jeapordize a playoff chance

They drink more. Also, it's easier to get revved up 8 times a year at home than 41. Plus all that dea time between plays you'd get bored without going crazy nuts bananas, Strong Bad.

Football always has an extreme amount of anticipation, it always has plenty of time to build up

so football games are more special

It is far more aggressive of a sport compared to Basketball, and it is human nature for people to be attracted to such violent activities, look at the popularity of the Colliseum during Roman times! :P

I guess you mean American football (if you were to say English Football I would have a better answer).

I guess cause their seems to be more rivalries when it comes to football then it comes to basketball
