No

Absolutely not.

My first Christmas alone was supposed to be with family, but my car wouldn't start so I was totally alone and had no food. Back then no one was open Christmas, now most places are and I think it's nice.

Sometimes you need some extra egg nog to get everyone through the day.

As someone who does not celebrate the holidays in question and also who has no family nearby I love that places are starting to be open on the holidays. It makes you feel very isolated when everything is closed. My holiday traditions consists of going to the Oriental Buffet (I am a terrible cook) and going to a movie.

As long as it is a choice that the company makes and employees are not forced and fairly compensated I don't see a problem with it at all. I work in retail and volunteer to work all holidays because the pay is fantastic, I wish my store was open more holidays so I could work them.

I don't think it is wrong for them, but employees who choose not to be there shouldn't be forced to work on those days.

Some companies are doing something interesting where everyone gets a certain number of holidays and can take them off whenever they like. The company is open 365 days a year. The employees have a lot more freedom that way.

True Christians do not celebrate Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and holidays that are derived from pagan god worship; but they do celebrate the Holy Days that God set for our edification: Passover, Pentecost, Feast of Tabernacles, the Sabbath, etc. They are also free to celebrate national holidays such as Thanksgiving, Independence Day, and the like.

Yes & No i think companies should be closed on those and other certain holiday's so that peolpe can enjoy and spend time with faimilies who they might not get the chance to see ever again for what ever reason. or just won't in a long time after maybe because of distance and ect. yes because people still have to pay bills and there has to be a employer so that the employee can get paid, so that should sum it up.

Businesses should close for the holidays. I was in London over Christmas one year, on Christmas Day, EVERYTHING was closed, no subway, no bus, taxis charged double.
I won't have to work during the holidays this year, I've had to before. Hotels never close and we probably need gas stations by major thoroughfares open but everything else should close.

If you're not Christian and these are not holy days for you, go ahead and work.

However, they are statutory holidays which are available for everyone to take off, so it's up to the employer and the individual employees. I think they have to pay at least time and a half, which many would not turn down.

Yes, these holidays should be spent with the ones you love. It is a special time of the year. It is a time to remember all your life. It is what it is all about. Everything has become too commercialized and the true meaning behind the holidays is being lost.

They're open during Hanukkah, Tet, Ramadan and all the other religious holidays - why not christian holidays? Why are they so special in a country promulgated on religious freedom? Do YOU want to pay for the lawsuits when they try to reinstate christian blue laws and enforce them?

No. What is wrong is to impose religious holidays on people who have no interest in them. It would also be wrong to impose work on religious holidays to people who don't want to work. There will always be enough people wanting to make money (especially if they get double pay) on these special days to satisfy everyone.
