She is American Channing was born in New York City to Lester Napier Stockard and Mary Alice Channing

All I can tell you is that she was born to a wealthy shipping magnate from New York City....and was raised a Roman Catholic.....her fathers name was Lester Napier Stockard and her mothers name was Mary Alice English........so it sounds like she may have a little French.........Stockard is an English name but the Napier is French.
And yes I knew she graduated from Harvard.....so did Tommy Lee Jones.....they acted together early on.
