If you hear a noise in your house and it is late at night, would you go up and check what it was, or would you be petrified?

I have two precious children down the hall, so you bet your butt I get up and check!
If it's something that sounds a lot like someone breaking in, I'd grab the phone and a heavy object first, but I'd most certainly get up and go to their room right away.
If it's just creaking type noises or house "settling" sounds, I still get up because I have this maternal need to check on the girls. Besides, I know it's most likely nothing, but any excuse to go into their room, stroke my baby's little face in her crib and kiss my older one's forehead and tell them one more time, "I love you so much," is a good excuse ;)

The only thing that goes bump in the night around here is me falling down the steps at 3am.
But if I heard a noise I would definitely get up and check it out.

I'd like to say I'd be brave and go check it out, but more likely I would freeze up and just stay in bed shaking. I live alone so if I heard anything that wasn't a noise my cat was making I would be too pretrified to do anything.
However, if I kept hearing the same noise I would first turn on the lights and grab my cell and then to check it out.

I would defiantly go and look....
But then it seems the women in movies are always curious and have to see whats trying to kill them!
And I am a woman.....
Yes I would be scared half to death, but with children in the house I would look to make sure they are safe!
