Its your choice, they say its better and you have a lowered chance of getting a yeast infection but if you wear 100% cotton underwear its okay.
You dont HAVE to sleep with no panties so the vagina can breathe though it just makes it easier.

They don't have to, but it is healthier. It lets the vagina breathe so you have less chance to get an infection. Cotton panties are good too :)

Well, the vagina doesn't breathe in the traditional sense of air entering and exiting the lungs, but, the vagina does need to air out in order to avoid yeast infections.
Yeast infections are more likely to develop when the vagina remains warm and moist.
