It has been identified that people can generally categoriese into 3 type of learners. First are those who are visual, they learn best by watching how things are done. Second are those who are listeners, they learn through instructions given and through sound. Lastly are those who learn through physical touch, they are those learn best through experiencing it. So I would suggest that teaching method suit each children need. So it would have to be an effective combination of each.

With my children I found that if I turned learning into a game they would ask me to do it as apposed to my nagging them into doing it. Songs, clapping, anything that makes it fun usually makes it stick in a child's head. I still remember song games from when I was in kindergarten and that was quite a few years ago!! Keep things fun and make sure you have fun doing it. Good luck!
