Their emotions are all over the place. They hate that they are hurting you and splitting up the family, but for you, its better. Its horrible when parents are around and always fighting. Its better when they are separted by law or houses - and they don't argue.

Until the divorce is over, their emotions will be all over the place, almost like yours.

My best suggestion for any child (young adult) is that they talk with their parents or school counselor and ask to see a professional therapist. They can help you sort through the adult stuff you might not understand.

No matter what, it affects you - but isn't about you. Both your parents love you - truly, truly love you. Don't ever think otherwise.

One thing to remember if they happen to say something negative about the other parent...at one time, they did love each other...that's how they got you ;-).

Also, if they do say something negative to you about the other parent...just ask them to neve say anything negative about your dad/mom to you. After one time of telling them this...they'll stop.

Hope this helps. Your parents are both good people but somehow moved down a different road. Your lucky to have both f them - even in separate houses.

Well, they lose their loved one. The one they had hopes of being with the rest of their lives. So they lose their hopes and dreams. They have to start life without one another. It is odd for them because they have grown comfortable with that person.
