yes, i'm a huge ohio state fan but i would ask this no matter which two teams were playing. everybody keeps saying they would like to see an ohio state-michigan rematch for the national championship. let's say ohio state wins. so they go undefeated, 11-0, win the big ten championship, and finish the regular season as the number 1 team. can anybody please explain to me if they played michigan again in the bcs championship bowl game and for some reason, michigan wins the game, they are considered the best team in the country. like i said, forget which team you like, say it's any two teams, how could anyone consider that the team that lost the first game the number one team when the other team already beat them.

It won't happen. Ohio State and Michigan may be 2 of the best teams this season (not necessarily the 2 best, but 2 of the best). But the fact that one will have a loss at the end of the season is the result of the same scheduling practices that all teams have to follow. The only way this could be in anything resembling fair (given that the BCS is bull) is if the loss in discussion is treated the same as any other loss.
But in the NFL, teams always play their rivals twice. Sometimes one team wins both, sometimes they split. But the neutral field of the national championship game will even the odds closer to just the players.

If W. Virginia runs the table they would play the other 11-0 team, as that's how the BCs rankings would play out. Rutgers just might get a shot at the title if they go 11-0, but it would be a closer call. So no, there won't be a rematch of OSU & Mich. in the title game.

I think that if Michigan wins OSU will only drop to #2 and then there will be a re-match because there won't be an other team that will be considered better than them. If OSU wins, I think the powers that be will want to see another team take a crack at them as opposed to Michigan again.

I agree that it's not likely they will have
a rematch.. as long as USC and Florida plays
consistently and win out..the loser of the Mich vs Ohio St
game will not be playing for the nat. title..
that's the way it should be..
ps. as a USC fan, i really hope ohio state wins

It won't happen. Which ever team loses will drop to about fourth. Both Florida and USC will move passed them in the rankings.

I'm sick of these two teams and I haven't even watched them play on Sat. yet!
I'll tell you what, if these two teams wind up playing for the national championship I won't watch that game. There are 117 other 1A teams in the nation, not to mention all the 1AA, DII, and DIII teams in the nation
