Who would be willing to pick up the remainder of his contract?

He wants to stay but I think that if he doesn't get the job done in 2007 he will exercise his option to leave town. Face it, of all his HOF stats, very few have come in clutch situations. I guess it's easier to he a home run when your team is either up or down by 8 runs.

I don't think he is going to be traded. He keeps saying that he wants to be a Yankee, and to contribute to the team. BUT he also has a clause in his contract that lets him void the final three years if he so desires. That means that after 2007, he can choose to become a free agent if he wishes. ESPN radio reported that while A-Rod said he wishes to remain with the Yankees, that he stopped short of saying that he would not exercise the "out" clause after next season. We'll have to wait and see. He could be the most sought-after free agent next year!

Why would some idiot give this answer a thumbs down? It is exactly what I heard on ESPN. Oh, well I guess some people prefer idiotic answers to questions.

A-Rod is staying with the Yankees. He will live through the constant boos of the ever demanding Yankee fans. I believe that this next season the world will see a profound change in Rodriguez. He is a highly mental player who screwed enough this last season to mess him up straight through the end of the year. he puts in a ton of effort and this next year it will pay off. He knows that the yankees were very gracious in letting him stay. He also knows that they send him packing if he fails to preform. watch and see!

well Georgie that would mean that the Yankees have as many WS titles as the tigers in this century.anyway, a-rod will probably stay simply because he has a no trade clause.he`s not gonna want to leave NY the way things are now.

Can hope, but i dont think so. I mean, if he goes, the Yankees are going to haveta eat contract. And i cant see them getting back equal value for him. If anaheim wants to send Ervin Santana and one of there Blue chip prospects, then ok, or if Chicago Whitesox want to send Brandon Macarthy and Joe Crede, then ok there too, Or The Cubs send us Zambrano, ild do that too...otherwise, what is is out there from a team that could afford him.

No.
He will remain a yankee forever.
That way the yankees will continue to go winless in the world series. The last time the yankees won a world series was 2000 (which was the last year of the 20th century).
The yankees still havent won a world series in the 21st century.
