I am offered a trade of Warrick Dunn, Matt Hasslebeck, and Jeremy Shockey for Marques Colston. My team is pretty depleted now that Clinton Portis is out and Tatum Bell is hurt. Should I do it?

I would take this trade...
Colston is amazing, especially in yahoo.com leagues where he can start as both a TE or a WR but as hurt as the Giants recieving core is look for Shockey to start getting more looks from Eli.
Since you had Portis and he is hurt Warrick Dunn is an Awesome replacement and expect Matt Hasslebeck back this week or the next and expect him to try and prove why he is the starter over Seneca Wallace.
Colston is good but if you are that depleted this trade can definatly help you get back into contention.

In my opinion, keep Marques Colston. I do not say this merely on the basis that Colston leads all wide receivers in yards and is tied for first in reception TDs but also because he gets a lot of touches per game. Even if Colston doesn't get many touches, he still can get touchdowns, which are worth a lot last time I checked. For example, in Week 6 against Philadelphia, Colston only got 4 receptions for 40 yards, but scored a touchdown. And whenever Colston does not score a touchdown, he is able to make it up by accumulating a lot of reception yards. Take last week against Pittsburgh as an example. Colston didn't score any TDs, but he did build up 169 yards. Also, expect the Brees-Colston relationship to continue to build or at least maintain itself. In terms of the trade, you have to consider that while Dunn averages a somewhat impressive 80+ rushing yards per game along with about 10+ receiving yards, his stats are similar to last year, in which he only produced 3 TDs. I expect Dunn to maybe get only 2 or 3 more for the rest of the year, which is not too bad. As for Hasselbeck, he'll probably reflect what he did 2 years ago and not 1 year ago. While what he accomplished 2 years ago (22 TDs, 15 INTs) is not bad at all, you have to wonder Hasselbeck will return to good form after an injury, I happen to own both Shockey and Colston, and I'll tell you right now that Colston is much more consistent than Shockey. Shockey is basically a hit or miss. He can get you 10 points one week and then 0 points the next. Part of fantasy football is taking risks, but Shockey is an extreme case. I don't really expect him to elevate his game because of that inconsistency. He has great bursts of success, but often follows them up with the unpredictable... whatever that might be. All 3 of them have the potential to explode in this second half of the season, so this trade could work out fine. However, if you have a decent quarterback, try getting someone else other than Hasselbeck to fill your need. Otherwise, use good judgment as to whether you need the trade or not. I'm not quite sure how deep your team is. Good luck!

If you need a QB and a TE badly then do it. Also, look at Atlanta's playoff schedule and see what type of rush d's they are playing during your playoffs weeks. I wouldn't do this trade as you never want to trade a guy who can get you the type of points a week that colston can even though Hasslebeck is the man and Shockey seems to be coming around. Also, Atl's d is giving up a lot of points and are being forced to air the ball out to get back in the game.

Lastly, what you want to look at is what the points differences will be for the positions you are trading for. For example, say you already have a guy at TE like Cooley, Shockey isn't that much of an upgrade so you really don't need Shockey in that deal. Also, if you already have a guy like Romo at QB then you don't really need a QB. If you have truly crappy players at QB and TE then do the trade or look for a better RB.

try and pick up Betts from the ww, and hang onto Colston. Hes been producing big every week and theres no signs of him slowing down. The only player worth anything in that trade is Dunn, and he splits carries with Norwood(even though hes questionable for next game, knee). Hasselback is questionable for next and definitely needs sit until he can reprove himself. Shockey has been a bust this year, hasnt done much. Colston is a must keep in this trade.

If you are that depleted take the deal. RB are hard to come by and while Dunn isnt a top fantasy back you could do much worse. Once Hasselback returns he can give you good numbers depending on who your QB's are now. Just seems that giving up Colston to give you the depth needs makes good sense (even though Colston is a beast if you are using him at the TE spot, not bad at receiver either).

Take the trade. Dunn is a good #2 RB every week. Hasselbeck will be back and have Alexander back within 2 weeks. With Toomer hurt, Shockey is bound to get more looks.

Colston is great, but the alternative is to positive in this trade.

If you are really really depleted. I wish you'd given a list of your team as that is usually how we decide if its a good trade or not. If you are in need of all of those 3 positions do it...if not just try to get some better RBs out of Colston. In Yahoo leagues i picked up Colston and i will never drop him, he is too amazing...

i might shop Colston. He might desire to be Brees's new Gates. commerce certainly one of the different 2 adult men. McMichael will probably get the main return till you have an fool undergo fan on your league, then in line with threat you may commerce the fluke that's D. Clark.

If you're in a Yahoo league where you can use Colston at TE, then hold on to him and pick up some players on the waiver wire.
