Can anyone tell me the major events of the United States? Not good events but "bad" events. Here are some examples of what I'm talking about. Pearl Harbor, Adolf Hitler/Concentration Camps, Native Americans/Trail of Tears, Slavery, Titanic...if you could name any more for me, that would be great.

You need to limit your parameters. Every generation and every race has had important events. From the first born child at Jamestown, to 9/11.
The biggest event of my generation would be the moon landing on July 20, 1969 and then the Challenger explosion on January 28,1986. (prior to 9/11)

My mothers generation's biggest event were the moments of Friday, November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, at 12:30 PM Central Standard Time.
Another person's biggest event from that time may have happened on April 4, 1968, at 6:01 p.m. Central Standard Time.

Both of these events shaped a nation, and those that were there to witness the aftermath of each event.

It is therefore that I say limit your parameters, instead of a 1000 year period encompassing Leif Erickson to Bin Laden

Arrival of the Mayflower with those who thought they would bring the 'word of the gospel' yet left a trail of bloody smears of the souls of the innocent hosts who welcomed them with open arms and hearts....
