In normal use, the secret of keeping a stainless steel sink or appliance new-looking is to wipe it out with a damp cloth and dry them with a soft cloth.
If it needs a more thorough cleaning use a solution of ammonia & water or dishwashing detergent and water,
If it's stained use rubbing alcohol or baking soda, then wash them thoroughly with detergent and hot water. making sure you dry with a soft cloth.
Keep a dry cloth handy & remind everyone to use it even though only clean water has been run in the sink, because when the water evaporates, mineral deposits are left, even on the appliances, This means spots & eventually a dull finish.

I think alcohol is the best, but you must wipe dry as soon as you do it or it will streak. You can also use vinegar if you can stand the odor.
