A few days back, my mom saw the mouse skittering back and forth in the living room. My dad was supposed to set traps today but didn't and I just saw the little bastard run down the hall towards our family's bedrooms. Admittedly, my room is kind of a mess, just the type of place that the mouse would love. If he could be in there, I don't know how I'm going to sleep anywhere except for the couch tonight. How do I get the little bugger out?

I don't need humane traps. I'd like to do it humanely, but I'm not naive, I realize that probably won't be possible. Whatever is the most effective.

Snap trap baited with peanut butter. You got one, you probably have more. Get them quick or you will have a ton of them, they breed like Muslims.

A lot of people have said get a snap traps and put peanut butter on the triggers. So, 2 weeks ago, I caught one mouse the day I did this.

However, ever since then, when I put peanut butter on a trap, the peanut butter would be gone within a couple hours and the trap would be still waiting to spring.

Last night I tried something new: I tied small ribbons to the triggers of the snap traps and put peanut butter all over the ribbon. When I got up this morning, all three traps had dead mice in them.

One more tip: Put the trap along the walls. In houses, mice tend not to run in the open but along walls or other vertical surfaces (boxes, books, etc.)

You can set a "homemade trap if he's hungary. Put some peanut butter on an apple or some cheese, place this inside a box it would have a hard time runing out of, maybe an old tissue box. put the box in the middle of some pillows or something it can run up on, place a paper towel over the top, add a little extra bait, like a small piece of cheese or dab of p-nut butter. when it goes to eat it will fall into the box then you have to decide what to do with it after it is caught since this method will not kill it.

Go to Walmart and buy glue traps. Don't mess with the cardboard ones. Get the ones that are on black plastic. Put the trap where you have seen him run. If you want, you can put a little cheese on the glue but press it down. Check the trap EVERY day. Before you pick the trap up, push down on the mouse with something to make sure he sticks. You also might want to get a hammer or something and put the little guy out of his misery and then toss either in garbage you are putting outside or you could always pry the mouse off the trap but I wouldn't do that.

If you want to do it humanely----DON'T. They multiply RAPIDLY. They are destructive and they carry disease.

Then clean your room. I bet you will find lots of poop!!

depending on the size if it is small then get a glue trap, set them up anywhere you see mouse droppings. If it is big like bigger then a field mouse then get a snap trap and same thing as to where to set it. It's cold so they are looking for a warm place check for any holes that lead outside and either stop them up or you can put brillo pads there mice always go snout first and the brillo wire cuts there nose so they will not go through.

Have fun experimenting!! I would leave the buttered bowl one alone I don't think it would work. When dad gets the traps use Peanut Butter or Bananas. If you let the mouse go outside it has to be at least a mile from your house or it will be back home before you.

A scattergun works real good but the neighbors might complain. Cats are worthless cause if they have a full bowl of food, they'll just play with the darn thing and the mouse will live large stealing the cats food.
Best bet is Decon. Available at most hdwr. stores.

Don't put out rat bait because they will eat it and then die in the walls of the house and the smell is awful and last a very long time. Put out some rat or mice traps or glue traps. You also need to find out where it/they are coming in and cover that hole with something they can't chew thru like wire mesh. Best of luck to you.
