Great question by the way..Millions of people will soon be having the same exact problems and will need this info. Go to your control panel, internet options folder, and click on the "security" tab at the top. You'll immediately see the 4 instances of internet applications, the first one will already be highlighted for you. Click one time on the "trusted zones" and you'll see the area where you can add any site that you want to have access to without problems. Be sure to save those changes and restart the computer so that the new changes can take effect. If you use ZoneAlarm as your Internet Firewall, you can pull the program up and click on "tools" on te left side and then on "custom blocking" tab at the top. You'll then see the area where you can either "allow" or "block" any sites of your choice. Add your sites to that area as well and your firewall will no longer block you from those sites. Be sure to restart so that the new changes can take effect. Larry RadioShack 01-9590

People here are claiming to add different web sites like Yahoo to trusted zones???
ARE YOU GUYS CRAZY ?????????
This simple act will COMPLETELY open the door to any of the advertisers on yahoo to come into your computer and do whatever they want to do. True, MOST advertisers are safe, but you would also think that companies like sony would also be safe. THEY PUT THE WORST KIND OF VIRUS YOU CAN FIND ON REGULAR MUSIC CD'S (called a rootkit). Dont believe me? Google it: use the words ... sony music cd rootkit
Come on people, wake up and understand a LITTLE about internet security if you are going to be out here. If you DONT know what you are talking about, DONT give other people STUPID advice!
Now, like one SMART person commented, this is because of the new anti-phishing option of IE7. It THINKS that you are trying to be scammed, so it is trying to block you. MOST LIKELY, you have caught a virus, and it has changed your HOSTS file to send you to some site on the other side of the world whenever you type in yahoo.com.
FIX IT! Run an UP TO DATE antivirus!
For the person who trashed IE7 and went back to IE6: Will you send me an email that just simply says 'hello' so that I can find your IP address in the email headers, then connect to you and exploit the flaws that IE7 fixed that you just opened up again? Now, I'm not really going to do that but it REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE TO DO!!!

verify techniques > information superhighway ideas > protection tab. make constructive the web icon is highlighted and then click the button marked Settings. Scroll through the record till you note document receive less than the sub heading Downloads. verify that document receive is Enabled. Restart IE if it wasn't and also you replaced it to enabled. The pop up blocker can stop stuff taking position to boot. you may get round it through retaining down CTRL even as clicking the receive link.

You set the security level too high. Go to internet explorer properties and lower the security level. If that doesn't help, it's possible internet explorer isn't causing the problem. Check something else if that's the case.

That's the main reason I uninstalled IE7 & returned to IE6.
I did unblock my sites-even yahoo- by going to tools (above top screen on left) internet options, then click on trusted sites then click settings, here you can add the site by (example) yahoo.com. I also had to do the same by clicking local intranet & adding sites there-even my bellsouth isp & home page.
IE7 really suks on my 'puter,I've installed it 2 times & had to uninstall it within 48 hours,it stops responding & isn't friendly so-to-speak.
