It's like they embed the font info onto their html code somewhere, how can I do this?

In most cases, this is done by making a picture of the text in a graphics program. If you do this, you can choose whatever fonts and colors you like, and you can doctor up the text any way you want, since as far as the Web browser is concerned, it's not text, but rather a picture.

There have been a few experiments with embedding fonts in page content so they get downloaded along with the page, but so far as I know these techniques have never caught on. However, PDF files do something similar to allow them to incorporate embedded fonts.

With normal font use in HTML pages your browser will substitute the default font if you don't have that font on your computer but if the site designer embeds the font they use then it will display the same no matter what fonts are on the users computer.

If the site is designed in Flash, the text can be contverted to what is called a symbol in Flash. This will make the text display as it was originally intended no regardless of what fonts are on the users computer.

If the site is design in Photoshop and saved as image and HTML in Photoshop then everything, including the text is saved as an image file so it will display as the designer intended also.

Dreamweaver 8 has a feature called "Flash Text". You can make any font you want, make it look like regular text, and it will look good in any browser because it's a flash file.

I'm sure there are many other ways.

In the HTML code, can select whatever font they choose.
If you go into viewing the source of the webpage will show you in there what font they are using.
