Unfortunately I don't think you are going to see your money back any time soon if ever. It's probably going to cost you the "friendship" if you push the issue, but then again somebody who will borrow money from ya and then back out of it isn't all that great of a friend or boyfriend anyway. Take the loss, lose the overgrown 3 yr old leech and learn a hard life lesson : )

Bad situation. The only way to see about getting your money is to hit it head on. Tell him how it makes you feel. If he starts down the jealousy path tell him it's not true. If you can't seem to talk to him after that he is evading you. I'm sorry to say it but I think your money is gone. I hope it wasn't too much. If you can't get the money back you need to decide what is more important, your feelings about it or your friend. My dad always told me never loan more than you can afford to lose. I hope everything works out for you.

tell him like it is that when you let someone borrow your cash that person needs to pay it back!
if he accuses you of being jealous then tell him to get a life cause your not!
you're not a bad friend for asking it back that is what i would do
and to bring it up say you know that money i loaned you and you never paid me back well i kinda need it back.

Let this be a lesson to you do not loan money to friends or family with the expectation of getting it back, try keeping the loans under two hundred, that way it is not sorely missed...

How much does he owe you? You have to decide if the amount is worth the friendship. If it's a lot, you may have to seek legal advice to get your money back, but that will definitely ruin the friendship. Good luck.

Tell him that you need your money back and it is time for him to pay you back. Then don't loan him any more. Before you know it he will be asking you for another loan.

Just tell him times are getting tough for you and you need to get presents for your family for the holidays, and add something else like your car needs repairs, or you got tickets, or you need dental work, or something good that might sound like you have problems and you need his help. Do remind him that you lend him money.

Tell him you're really short on cash for the holiday season, could he get the money back to you? You really want to start shopping.
I don't think he can argue with that.
