The amount of money Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are spending on their wedding ? A couple of Milliondollars on security alone , plus theyr have asked the Italian government to clear air space over the castle they are getting married in.
It's completly out of hand in my opinion, theycould have found a remote beach somewhere or some other place ....golly even renting an island would have been less expensive....with so many people in the world living in dire circumstances , this wedding seems to have gone over the top in expense , they could have spent that amount of money helping people out.
And talk about major diva's ...asking air space to be cleared , good grief . they need to get a grip , they are puffing themselves up to be more important than they really are .....doe's this wedding , and the obscene amount they are spending on it annoy anyone else ?

Sick these so called stars the same happened here with Marilyn Mason and his wife when they got married here in Ireland. They wanted the whole village to abandon their homes for security reasons etc. The castle was eight miles from the village. Next he wanted to taste a local Irish pub. Guess what he ask his bodyguards to do go to the bar owner and ask him to as his customers to leave so Mr so called Mason and bride could come in. Can you believe it? The bar owner give an interview to the local press about this. The funny bit was he personally he told Mr Mason where to go lol he said Mr Mason was like a kitten when he told him and his bodyguards to go and fcuk themselves. It was reported that people in Europe hate it when these so called celebrity come here for wedding they make huge demands and act like drama queens lol

I don't particularly care for celebrities' every day lives. I can appreciate the work they do. They are just people & I think the obsession with them is ridiculous.
However I can see both sides of the picture. So ... no I don't think that what you're describing is obscene. I think it is necessary for them in some ways. The paparazzi is relentless! In this day & age a celebrity simply cannot have a wedding without going to extremes. I know I would not want to hear helicopters during my wedding. It would be a bit distracting. And you mentioned them renting an island, I think that's contradicting because it would take just as much money for that. Rent the island. Fly or ship in all equipment, supplies & guests. You would still need security all around the island. Paparazzi would try to sneak on that island somewhere. And there's still that helicopter problem.

Of course it's obscene. And I'm so very sick of hearing about this wedding.
On the other hand, that "normal" people spend something like 25 grand--more than a year's salary for many Americans--on average, to get married is also obscene. At least in America, weddings have long been more like lavish movie productions than religious, spiritual, or even legal ceremonies.

They have the money, so why not?!?! I bet if you were rich and had the money, you would probably do the same, as much as you won't admit it. But you should keep in mind that these celebrities with a lot of money do give a decent amount to charities too. They earn money the same way you earn yours even though it may seem like an easier job, so they absolutely have every right to do whatever they please with it, as long as it's not illegal.

Yup - anything with Cruise is out of hand these days. Too bad, he is a good actor. But obsessiveness in his personal life will have to interfere with his professional career at some time. Beyond his being let go from studios, he will eventually stop being hired.

I have really liked Tom Cruise over the years, but lately he turns my stomach, he is way out there somewhere and becoming very bizarre. If he continues, I am willing to bet he is going to lose his fan base, or at least some of it.

i could flow with a minimum of a spaghetti strap tank precise, or gown. I recommend, it is your date, yet i could attempt to look a sprint elegant. does not the eating place have A/C? 76 isn't warm... yet, that is 10 levels here.
