Figure out what card you have PCI-E or AGP

Step One: Go to a store and buy a 128mb video card those are not your only options but the options that i would tend to use.

Step Two: take it home

Step Three: follow directions provided in packaging and install as directed.

Step Four install drivers as needed.

Step Five: Play games

Pretty hard question to answer since it is like asking how to change a motor in a car.
Here's some general ideas.... look up them on yahoo.com if unclear on what to do.

1)Find out if your card bus is a PCI-E or AGP
2)Purchase card of your choice (personally those 2 cards you mentioned are ancient and you'll end up with something better)
3)Install card (here for help http://www.cod.edu/people/faculty/koerferm/sum05_am_web/leung.htm)
4)Download drivers from ati or nvidia

Good to go.

it wont require you to have that videocard, and you cant necessarilly update your videocard to meet certain standards. you would have to buy a new one if yours wasnt as good as those, but if its better, then your fine. i say get a better vid card then those anyway they suck
