i was wondering if it is weird to wear silicone earplugs at a concert. Do people look at me funny? Do loud sounds make anyone else uncomfortable?

You're sensitive to loud noises because you have good hearing. Don't endanger your hearing by subjecting it to the loud music at concerts. It isn't worth it. How could it be? Absolutely, wear silicone earplugs or any other kind of hearing protection if you go to those concerts (or if you operate a jackhammer or work close to jet engines, etc.), no matter what anyone else thinks. Or would you rather damage your ears for life, just to keep someone from looking at you?

Well, my friends would always complain about how low I often have the television or how softly I speak. I think I'm definitely more sensitive to noise in general. I think that's cuz I'm nearly blind though, lol. Can't see a thing without my glasses. Maybe she's partially right about the vitamins, I saw an article about vitamin E and hearing. I think you've been lied to yet again on the orientation part though lol. Wow, people here just think your friend is just a compulsive liar, huh? That must not be all there is to her, especially if you consider her to be your friend. =D

of course! I'm probably not as sensitive as u but i don't like loud sounds that much either. I've never heard of silicone earplugs though. i wear those foamy ones sometimes when i go to places that are loud. And if its dark in the concert no one will even notice them they will be too busy listening to the music don't worry about its fine.
PS if ppl make fun of u for having sensitive that's their loss u can probably hear lots of things that other ppl cant and that's cool!

Lucky you--
I can't go to concerts, not because of the noise, but because of the crowds... Wear the earplugs. It may actually help you to hear the music better, as they will block the unpleasant undertones from the stadium or venue acoustics. If you can still hear the nuances of that sweet guitar solo at fifty, and your friends can't, you'll be glad you did!

No, that's not weird. You'll look like you have "all-access" at the venue. I used to have a job where I attended many show rehearsals & stayed for the concerts/performances. We all wore them, you can't be around that loud of a sound too long before it affects you, even if you don't realize it at the time.

Hi There!

No, that is actually not weird at all, pretty normal really! Most of the artists wear the plugs themselves on stage, and recommend to their fans that you wear them. You will definitely thank yourself in the long run if ya do! Hope this helps ya out!!!!

No it is not unusual. If you don't want them to be noticed make sure they are flesh colored and not bright orange or something.

My sister was, and still is, sensitive to loud noises. Whenever we would go to a movie, when we were young, she would muffle her ears with her sweatshirt.

You can probably get skin toned earplugs which will help and who cares what other people think?! You're there to have fun!

Wear ear plugs when you fart before you blow your ear drums out and don't forget the gas mask.
