NO of course you can keep your own name i did. But also its nice to take your husbands name if you feel that way. obviously you strongly disagree so you dont have to but many women take there husbands married name its a part of them. no big deal.

Unless you want to make a name for yourself or your an actress and its good to keep your name in the lime light as who you are.

You've been married for 20 years and you're JUST NOW going "Gee, it's amazing how many married couples have the same last name - what're the odds that they'd meet someone else with the same last name as they have?"

Don't change it if you don't want to, and lose the "victim" mentality while you're at it.

You absolutely do not have to take your husbands name...I kept my maiden name when I got married, although I do sometimes do the whole "soandso-soandso" thing. Just because you are marrying someone does not mean that you have to give up your identity.

Why'd you bother to get married if this is the attitude that you have? Taking your husband's name is not law, first of all. It is an act of commitment & respect showing that you two are joined as one & are a family.

You do not have to take his name. You can keep your name, take both names, or your husband can take your name. good luck with that.

Only a bad wife wouldn't take her husband's last name. I can't believe you wouldn't be submissive and take his last name. :(
