Students choose to drop out for many reasons most feel that school isnt for them and sometimes circumstances will cause students to want to leave school. There's a disadvantage to those who do drop out of school because according to a commercial I saw that cited facts that people who don't graduate from high school will earn $200,000 less than someone who's got a diploma or college degree. You can't get a job without a high school diploma. I don't see the point of dropping out because you would miss the fun of attending prom and graduating with people your own age. Why would you want to settle for a GED when you can have a diploma you walked across the stage and accepted. Sure school is going to be challenging, but life's challenging enough when you don't have the proper education to get a job and career off the ground.

Q #1 A: They are allowed to drop out so rationally speaking they should be able to.

Q #2 A: They drop out because they decide to for the most part.

Q #3 A: The reasons vary from person to person. Some do it to work. Others might find it difficult and wish to move on to something else. School is not for everyone.

Note: There are some people who take school to an opposite extreme. These are known as "career students". The same question could be asked of them actually.

Where I live, students can drop out of school to work in the oilfields and get paid more than their former teachers. It's no wonder 30% of students don't graduate from high school. I would like to see a restriction that requires people under eighteen without high school diplomas to prove financial hardship before being allowed to work more than twenty-five hours per week. This would allow people who need money to work, but it would keep a lot more students in school.

There are many different reasons why one would drop out of school. They could include; being just plain lazy, hating school, needing to start working to help pay bills, etc.. Im not all that sure what goes through their heads when they do it. And yes they should be allowed dropping out of school. It is their decision what they want to do. Later on in life I'm sure they will regret it, but that is what adult learning centers are for. If you force someone who wants to drop out to go to school, they would just skip every day anyway. Let them make their own choice.. Whether or not it is good is another thing.

I personally think that students should be allowed to drop out of school. I mean some people don't even care, if you're going to get straight Fs anyway, why even come to school? School should be for people who are willing to learn and do want a better future. People who don't even try, in my opinion, are a waste of space. I should think that it fustrates the teacher. I would feel horrible to have a student that just sat there and did nothing. Some teachers are really trying hard to help these children get a better future. However, these children fail to realize that. School is taken for granted. Some people in America will not be able see how precious school is. I mean think about people in Asia. They have to pay for school, and some of the kids that have potential have to drop out because of financial problems. In America, school is covered for. I mean parents have to pay taxes, but still, it's considered "free".

Students drop out of school because they don't care. They don't care about what job they'll be getting in the future. They don't care about what their family conditions will be like in the future. They simply do not care. I cannot stress the importance of school. Yes, it's very stressing, but it'll pay off. I think getting paid more than ten dollars an hour is much better than minimum wage. Once these children grow older, they will probably start to regret it. They might have children, maybe even more than one. How are they going to support them? Oh, they can certainly rely on welfare, but they'll be barely hanging on.

Yes, students should be allowed to drop out. As a high school teacher with over 130 students this year, I have quite a few, who, for whatever reason, just don't do any work. It's not only in my class that they slack off--it's in all their classes. Why do they have to take up space in my classroom, why do they have to take up my attention and my time if they don't care when I could devote that attention and time to the ones who give a damn? I don't mean to be mean, but the reality is, at this stage in the game, they're old enough to decide if they want to learn or not. If they choose not to do so, then why can't they quit?

With this increasing amount of stress and work, some students have become very frustrated and depressed. Students then drop out of school and take the easy way out to eliminate some of that stress.

Yes, undoubtedly yes.

I dropped out of school in the beginning of my senior year. I dropped out because I was too far behind--It would take almost two years to catch up. I was on a heavy load of medication, had a lot of doctor appointments and hospital stays. My failure in school was inevitable.

Many people drop out because of pregnancy, financial problems, medical problems, and a lot of others problems.

All the ones that I know of are still living with their parents and do not work. They will live with their parents until they die. My nephew is 28 and a perfect example, has never had a real job.
