I keep seeing warnings that if same-sex marriage is legalized then bestiality or pedophilia or other strange behaviors will be next. What does a marriage between two loving people have to do with bestiality or pedophilia? Are opponents of same-sex marriage obsessed about the sexual part?

Hi there!

Well from what I have read in the paper, the people that do not agree with same sex marriage are actually against the marriage. Most people that do not agree with it are very religious, but most do not have the problem with the actual same sex being together. I don't really know a whole lot about the subject, but my fiance and I read a whole long article in the paper about it today as a matter of fact.. lol! Hope this helps ya out!

When did marriage become a union between two loving persons? As far as I know marriage between human beings is a union of a man and a woman. Why are you trying to change that? Why do you even want to change that? It never made sense to me, the whole same sex marriage thing. This would have been resolved a long time ago if those who want same sex marriage just called it something else. I don't care if you want to hook up with another man, whatever floats your boat I guess. But, trying to redefine marriage doesn't show me the same consideration, does it?

Well, they feel that homosexuality is wrong to begin with, but a lot of the people against same-sex marriage are religious and feel that a marriage is between a man and a woman-and that the bible says it is WRONG for two people of the same sex to engage in any sexual activity whatsoever. However, they don't realize that not all homosexuals actually participate in sexual activities (Of course there are those that do) but that isnt the 'point' in same-sex marriage. Its a sacred thing and they dont want homosexuals to foul it up with all their sinning ways. Its a crock of s***, but whatever.

The same fuss was generated when whites and blacks wanted to marry. Ignorance is slowly being erased from society one issue at a time.

I believe in the separation of church and state. Therefore, I support:

Civil Marriages
Religious Marriages

Both types of marriage requiring a state issue marriage license.

Gay people are not second class people and if gays accept civil unions versus marriage, then they are accepting a second place rating in society. Bringing equality to all requires we all eat from the same plate. Acceptance of interracial marriages took time, and perhaps in some areas is still look at differently. The same principle should rightfully apply to gays.

Churches will not be forced to marry gays. Churches have never been forced to marry any couple they didn't want to conduct a marriage ceremony for.

The State should promote equality for all. If heterosexuals can contract marriage, then so should their brothers and sisters who are gay. Otherwise. the State is practicing discrimination and should be sued for violation of civil rights.

fr chuck has it exactly right as well as someone else who said you have to draw the line somewhere. People who are for gay marriage cant think it to fruition. What happens next? You already know there are people who like necrophilia, beastiality the likes, thats not news. Why is that different. People will say ofcourse that wouldnt happen a person is different than an animal? NO that is incorrect. they will say Well we know that those other things are wrong but that is exactly what we say about them? why is that any different than what we think? Once you set a president you cant renig on it. I dont care what you do in your bedroom by two consenting adults but to just let anybody do whatever they want, which is what they are trying to argue, starts a chain reaction of "well they are doing it why not me".

Personally I'm against same-sex marriage because marriage is a holy occasion. They can be together but they can call it something different than marriage. And if you want to argue about the no religion in government then I can tell you that marriage comes from religion.

Don't listen to the fringe liberal goups I guess.

It is a matter of decay of moral values. First yes most are against the relationship itself, since it is not a valid one.

But since it seems unlikely that the relationship can be stoped, at least in any short time frame, holding on to the status quo of morality is so important.

And yes, the man/boy relationship groups are already lobbying for thier rights, remember gays got thiers by saying they are born that way, that is exactly what the pediphile also says.

And the liberals are looking toward Europe for alot of its value, and compares us ( as they did today on air america) to demark. They next move would be either pural marrage ( which is what I can't understand was not first, sicne it is even not against the bible, while homosexuality is against the bible.
But they would like to see the age of consent to be lowered to 10 to 12 as its first stop, so then 40 year old could have legal sex with 12 year old since they are of legal age. They are already working on their lobby,

so if two loving people, why not three loving people,

And yes, it is a matter of moral values,

Homosexuality is already an unnatural act encouraging unnatural behavior. Whats going to keep ******* and dykes from sticking things in places they already don't belong in, in the first place? HOMO marriage, beastiality and pedophillia are all the same.....sexual deviation, and a mental illness.

It is defenitly the same sex. Why would people be against marriage?.You have to look sometimes from a parent's perspective. Would u incourage your son or daughter to marry the same sex?..I didn't think so..So making same sex marriage legal, not only confuses our kids, but sends a very unhealthy message. I personally think what a person decides to with his , or her life under their roof is their proragative. Why do people have to let the whole world know that they are different?..In other word's ..KEEP YOUR **** TO YOURSELF!..

I think same sex marriage should be legal because everyone should have the same basic human rights. But mostly because I think gay and lesbians should have to suffer through legal marriage just like straight people. After its legalized they'll see how much marriage sucks and wonder why they fought so hard for it!
