Anyone use the Vox AD50VT 50W? I hear good things about it - The 30 seems ok, but may not be powerful enough for gigging. Any other amps you recommend?

well, i do shows very often and i can tell you neither a 50 or 30 is good for gigging. even small venues. aim for at least a 100. my personal fav is a behringer v-tone gmx212. it's expensive (260), but it's a dual 60, and kicks *** at both practices and shows. i've used one before, but have yet to own one. if u need help shoppin, feel free to email me. john@hw7online.com

I've always been partial to ANY Mesa Boogie, but they're a tad too expensive for me currently... Maybe someday...
But, Roland makes a really neat practice amp - the Micro Cube. It's got an AC adapter and runs on 6 AA batteries, has a lot of built-in effects and has 6 different amp simulations. Also, has a line-in and headphone jack, so whenever you wanna play along with something loudly, it doesn't disturb anyone else! Puts out a pretty loud signal for a pipsqueak amp, too...!

My husband has a California Blonde - original model.

Find an original with tubes for the electronics. Very warm sound with both his six string acoustic guitar and his acousitc bass.

He uses it for his jazz combo gigs and solo work.
