I have no idea how much geckos cost (sorry!), but I do know that hamsters, depending on the breed, can cost anywhere from about $5 to $20. However, most are from about $5-10. But have you considered adoption? This will save you money, and plus, there are many hampies and geckies out there who need homies lol! Don't automatically assume that new pets are better...good luck! P.S. If I were you I would get a hamster, not a gecko, but if you DO get a hamster, whatever you do, don't buy it @ Petsmart, they're supposed to be mean there, and I got my hamster there, and I had to put it up for adoption because it wouldn't stop biting. Also, you should definitely get a boy. They tend to be nicer. And I also recommend that you buy it from a small, family-owned pet shop that is not a chain, because the pets in those shops tend to be held more and therefore friendlier than the animals sold in large pet industries such as Petco and, of course, Petsmart.

Hamsters range anywhere from$5-$10 depending on the breed of the hamster, short-haired tend to be the cheapest. Geckos range anywhere from $8-$20 depending again on the breed. My favorite is the leopard gecko they are one of the easiest to take care of. Petco offers kits designed to include just about everything you need for your new animal. The kits run about $60 for Hamsters and about $80 for geckos.You might want to check around to because sometimes they have animals for adoption too, ones that people give up and turn over to the store for adoption. Hamsters are cute and fuzzy but they can be aggressive, I just got bit the other night three times by the same hamster when cleaning his cage and he made me bleed.

I think you mean geckos as in the reptile. And hamsters depend on the size age and health. Like a baby would cost about twenty dollars. A gecko would cost about thirty dollars. Geico is a car insurance company.
